Shannon Deemer and Walter Janoski were united in the sacrament of marriage Saturday, October 4, 2008, in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter, by the Rev. Joseph Sibilano OSJ.

The bride is the daughter of William and Marlene Deemer of Scranton. She is the granddaughter of Adele Sylvester and the late Vincent Sylvester, Scranton. The groom is the son of Walter and Norma Janoski of Exeter. He is the grandson of Gustav and Irene Janoski, Pittston and Norma Voyton and the late Charles Voyton, Nanticoke.

The bride was given away in marriage by her father. She chose her best friend Amanda Smith, as her maid of honor and her sister, Lisa Stegura, as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Chelsea Kearney, cousin of the bride, Jennifer Janoski, Janine Janoski and Susan Schaubhut, sisters of the groom. The groom chose his best friend, Mark Koslosky, as his best man. Groomsmen were Frantz Stegura, brother-in-law of the bride, Frank Schaubhut, brother-in-law of the groom Kerry Kearney, cousin of the bride, Vince Deemer and Bill Deemer, brothers of the bride. Flower girl was Alyssa Stegura, niece of the bride.

Readings were given by Rachel Zanfandino, cousin of the groom and Kerry Kearney, uncle of the bride. A bridal shower was hosted by the bride’s mother at the Melting Pot, Scranton. The parents of the groom hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Avenue Diner, Exeter.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of West Scranton High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications from Penn State University in 2003. She is employed as a Documentation Specialist for Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The groom is a 1998 graduate of Scranton Prep. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science and a minor in Statistics from Penn State University in 2002 and earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Operations Management from the University of Scranton in 2009. He is employed as a System Administrator and Underwriting Consultant for Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Following a honeymoon to Punta Cana, the couple resides in Exeter.
