United in Marriage

Nicole Susan Bryk and John Paul Warnek were united in marriage on June 13, 2009. The ceremony was held at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont, by Father Joseph Verespy. An evening wedding reception was held at the Via Appia, Taylor.

Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Warnek

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Michele Barna of Pittston and Mr. John Bryk of Avoca. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Mikitish of Duryea and Ms. Irene Joyce of Avoca. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Warnek of Old Forge. He is the grandson of Ms. Ceil Exter of Moosic and Mr. John Warunek of Dupont; and the late Peter and Eileen Nanni of Old Forge.

The bride was given away in marriage by her father and mother. She chose her friend Michelle Minegar, as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Nikki Warnek, sister of the groom; Sara Joyce and Katie Dudley, cousins of the bride and Brianna Tucker and Michelle Goff, friends of the bride.

The groom chose his close friend, Andrew Rivera, as his best man. Groomsmen were Robert Giacometti, cousin of the groom; Ryan Joyce, cousin of the bride and Nolan Hahn, William Tucker, Sean Frost and James Frost, all friends of the groom. Readings were given by Mrs. Colleen Dudley, aunt of the bride and Ms. Ceil Exter, grandmother of the groom. Gifts were presented by Mrs. Maria Joyce and Mrs. Susan LeLack, aunts of the bride and Mrs. Marlene Vitaletti, godmother of the groom.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Pittston Area High School, a 2002 graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education and a 2009 graduate of Wilkes University with a Master’s degree in Special Education. She is a special education teacher in the Old Forge School District.

The groom is a 2000 graduate of Old Forge High School and a 2005 graduate of Wilkes University, where he earned a Bachelor degree in Secondary History Education and will be graduating in 2010 from Wilkes University with a Master’s degree in Special Education. He is employed by Wyoming Valley Health Care.

The couple honeymooned in Jamaica.
