Fallon Ann Falkowski, daughter of Joseph and Phyllis Falkowski, Pittston and John Joseph Plis III, son of Patricia M. Plis, Moosic and the late John J. Plis Jr., were united in marriage on July 19, 2008 at Holy Rosary Church in Duryea. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Reverend Charles W. Rokosz and the Reverend Al Oldfield.

Escorted by her father, the bride chose her cousin, Amy Szafran, as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Danielle Falkowski, sister of the bride; Daneen Skutack, sister of the bridegroom; Dianna Markert, Sarah Markert and Christina Prawdzik, cousins of the bride, Madeline Rose Skutack, niece of the bridegroom was flower girl.
The bridegroom chose his brother-in-law, Mark Skutack as his best man. Ushers were Patrick McHugh, Mark McHugh and Jeff Laskowski, cousins of the bridegroom. Ed Szafran and Joseph Prawdzik, cousins of the bride. Scriptural readings were given by Faith Whalen, Jillian Falkowski, sister of the bride and Bernice Brezinski. Offertory gifts were presented by the godmothers of the bride and bridegroom, Roseann Papi and Ann Marie Lizak.
An evening cocktail hour and dinner reception was held following the ceremony at the Waterfront Banquet and Convention Center, Plains, with entertainment provided by Fancy Dancer. The bride was honored with a bridal shower given by mothers of the bride and bridegroom at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, Scranton. A rehearsal dinner hosted by the mother of the bridegroom was held at Trattoria Bella, Moosic.
The bride is a graduate of Scranton Preparatory School and the University of Scranton, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in biology and a Master’s degree in secondary education/biology. She is employed as a high school biology teacher in the Pittston Area School District.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Bishop Hannan High School and earned an Associate in Applied Science in Biomedical Technology from Johnson College. He is employed as a Biomedical Equipment Technician at Moses Taylor Hospital.
