Becky Dominique Bennett and Robert Kermit Coursen were united in the sacrament of marriage Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Exeter, Pennsylvania. Reverend Paul McDonnell performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Willard and Patricia Bennett of Exeter. She is the granddaughter of the late Dominick and Josephine Granteed of Hughestown and the late Willard and Elizabeth Bennett of South Gibson, Pennsylvania. The groom is the son of Gerald and Joan Coursen of Scranton. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Coursen of Scranton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Griffiths of Peckville.
The bride wore an ivory strapless ball gown, designed by Amsale, made of Windsor Duchess satin with a straight neckline and a gathered skirt. Floral organza ribbon accented the waistline. Escorted by her father, the bride chose her sister, Dr. Beth Bennett, as her maid of honor and her best friend, Josette Curtis, as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sherrie Contardi, sister of the groom; Francesca Scivetti and Kara Lehman Bowser, friends of the bride. Lauren Granteed, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.
The groom chose his brother, Jeffrey Coursen, as his best man. Groomsmen were Michael Reuther, Cory Rubino, Bill Weldon and Joseph Evancavich, friends of the groom. James Coursen, was the ring bearer. Scriptural readings were given by Ann Granteed, aunt of the bride, Steve Dobrzyn, brother-in-law of the groom and Ann Minella, friend of the bride. Offertory gifts were presented by Sam and Carmella Palermo, godparents of the bride.
An evening reception was held at Fox Hill Country Club in West Pittston. The bride was honored at a bridal shower also at Fox Hill Country Club given by her mother. The groom’s parents hosted the rehearsal party at Agolino’s Restaurant in West Pittston.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of Wyoming Area High School, a 2001 graduate of the University of Scranton, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and Theater, and a 2003 graduate of Brooklyn College with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting. She is employed as a second grade teacher at PS 41, the Greenwich Village School, in New York City.
The groom is a 1994 graduate of Scranton High School and a 2000 graduate of Keystone College where he earned an Associate degree as a physical therapy assistant. He is currently employed by Metro Sports Med in Brooklyn as a physical therapy assistant.
In July, the couple went on a honeymoon trip to Hawaii and are presently residing in New York City.
