United in Marriage

Kristy DeRome and Paul Gomberg were united in marriage on May 24, 2008 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Pittston by Father Paul McDonnell, O.S.J. The bride is the daughter of Furry and Mary DeRome of Hughestown. She is the granddaughter of the Late Mr and Mrs. John Dalessandro of Pittston and the late Mr. and Mrs. Carmen De Rome of Pittston. The groom is the son of Frank and Vivian Gomberg of Tunkhannock. He is the grandson of Harriet Gomberg and the late Morris Gomberg of Florida and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mills of Missouri.

The bride, escorted by her father chose her sister, Jodi Eike, as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were April Goodlavage, Lisa Finan, Stephanie Schaefer, Elizabeth Williams, Kelly McDermott all friends of the bride, Melissa Para, cousin of the bride and Hannah Gomberg, niece of the groom. The flower girl was Jianna Eike, godchild of the bride.

The groom chose his brother Chip Gomberg as best man. Groomsmen were Derek Lyne, Jeremy Williams, Jason Williams all friends of the groom and Ethan Gomberg brother of the groom, Jason Eike, brother-in-law of the groom and Anthony Dalessandro and Christopher Dalessandro, cousins of the bride. The ring bearer was Ephriam Gomberg, nephew of the groom. Scriptural readings were given by Theresa Ripa, aunt of the bride and Melissa Para, cousin of the bride. Offertory gifts were presented by Nicola DeRome, godmother and aunt of the bride and Anthony Dalessandro, godfather and uncle of the bride.

An evening cocktail hour and dinner reception was held at the Woodlands Inn and Resort. The couple was honored at an engagement party hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Jason Eike at their home. The bride was honored at a bridal shower given by her mother at the Woodlands Inn and Resort. The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Cafe.

The bride is a 1996 honors graduate of Pittston Area High School and 2001 honors graduate of Misericordia University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood.

The groom is a 1997 graduate of Elk Lake High School and attended Luzerne County Community College. He is currently employed for the Department of Defense.

Following a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple celebrated their one-year anniversary in the Caribbean. They currently reside in Exeter.
