Doctors note first wedding anniversary

Nadine Elizabeth Palermo and Jeffrey Samuel Guasto were married on February 7, 2009 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Pittston.

The bride is the daughter of Anthony and Florence Palermo of Pittston. She is the granddaughter of Susan and the late Anthony Palermo, West Pittston and the late Stanley and Isabelle Oliveri, Pittston. The groom is the son of Frank and Terry Guasto of Pittston. He is the grandson of Josephine and the late Samuel Guasto, Pittston and the late John and Rita Soltis, Pittston.

Celebrant was Father Paul McDonnell, Father Gregory Finn and Father Johnson were co-celebrants. Musical arrangements were under the direction of Joseph Knaus. Readings were given by Michelle Sodano, aunt of the bride, Kate Mullen, Kristen Rincavage, and Mary Laura Sewatsky, friends of the bride. Offeratory gifts were presented by Anthony Callaio, godfather of the groom, Jean Oliveri, godmother of the bride, and Barry Hosier, godfather of the bride. The bride escorted by her father chose her sisters, Ashley and Meredith Palermo as maids of honor and Amy Dessoye Oliveri at matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Carrie Guasto Philbin, sister of the groom, Tiffany Ferentino and Christina Kester, cousins of the bride, Melissa Mariasch, Dr Annie McLaughlin, Dr. Tricia Hennessey Helm and Dr. Mariko Yasuda, friends of the bride. Flower girl was Nora Ann Philbin, niece of the groom.

The groom chose friends, David Hudzinski and Joseph Mudlock as best men. Groomsmen were Edward Philbin, brother-in-law of the groom, Alan Hanczyc, Ron Vogel, Jr., William Spudis, Joseph McNulty, Matthew Romero, Matthew Dubrovich and Dr. Dimitrios Kazazis friends of the groom. Ring bearer was Anthony Jason Ferentino, cousin of the bride.

A bridal shower was hosted by the mothers of the bride and groom at Fox Hill Country Club, Exeter. The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Cafe Rinaldi, Old Forge as well as a brunch for out of town guests. An evening reception hosted by the bride’s parents was held at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, Scranton.

Dr. Palermo is an Internal Medicine Resident at Cambridge Hospital and Clinical Fellow in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Guasto is presently completing his Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the Department of Physics at Haverford College.

Following a European honeymoon in Paris, Nice, Monaco and Venice the couple resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
