United in Marriage

Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas was the setting September 12 for the wedding of Maria Elizabeth Healey and Thomas James Hurst Jr., both of Dickson City.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Healey, Scranton. She is the granddaughter of the late Joseph and Rosaleen McFadden Healey, Pittston and the late Donald and Marie Pesavento Williams, Scranton.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Hurst, Dunmore.

Captain Arnold officiated at the 1 p.m. ceremony. Gerilynn Williams Price, Scranton, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. Steven Zayac, Dunmore, Cousin of the bridegroom, was best man.

The bride is a graduate of West Scranton High School and earned Bachelor’s degrees in secondary education and history from the University of Scranton. She is a teacher at Scranton High School.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Dunmore High School and a union ironworker in New York and New Jersey.

Following a cruise to Bermuda aboard the Explorer of the Seas, the couple resides in Dickson City. Local relatives attending the wedding cruise include Tom and Ellen Healey Shanahan, Plains and Patrick Healey, Pittston.
