A deal’s a deal for Jenkins Yankees-Phillies fans

Last year Zach Mascelli, Felix Mascelli Jr, Felix Mascelli, Jimmy Musto Jr, and Jimmy Musto, parents and players from the Jenkins Twp Little League were pictured at the Phillies World Series Parade.

Last shots for Lady Patriot tennis seniors

The Pittston Area girls tennis seniors and their parents were honored before the final home match. The players and parents were honored for their dedication to the tennis program during their high school careers.

Running start for PA freshman Lombardo

In the District 2 AAA girls cross country championships, PA freshman Catherine Lombardo was the top local runner. Catherine won a medal for placing 11th in 21:33 in the field of 91 runners.

Chris Price November 1 -7

On Friday night November 6 Pittston Area football tailback Chris Price took home the 32nd annual Carmello Falcone Memorial Trophy as the most valuable player of the Pittston Area – Wyoming Area football game.

PA on top 7-3 after fall

The Pittston Area football team’s 40-19 win on Friday wrapped up the fall Bridge Trophy season. Pittston Area goes into the winter season with a 7-3 lead. Heading into the football game Wyoming Area had won two of the last three events since trailing 5-1.

Wyoming Area using ImPACT to manage concussions

The Wyoming Area Football Parents Association (WAFPA) purchased a concussion management system that monitors and evaluates athletes who have sustained concussions. The system, called ImPACT, stands for Immediate Postconcussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing. The ImPACT system helps physicians, athletic trainers and coaches determine when a player who has sustained a concussion can safely return to action.

The animal-less production season

I have said it many times before, “I love my job!” I get to meet interesting people with interesting stories to tell. My bosses allow me to schedule my own stories and to adjust my personal schedule accordingly. The main focus of Pennsylvania Outdoor Life is to inform and educate the audience while entertaining them enough to return week after week. When it all works as planned it comes together smoothly and we believe we have accomplished our mission. But when it doesn’t work out, the rush to fill a half hour of television could be nerve racking to say the least.

Four years ago when Paige Semenza was entering her sophomore year in high school she left Pittston Area and enrolled in the North American Hockey Academy in Stowe, Vermont. At the time the school’s hockey director Bill Driscoll told her parents, Joann and Phil, they could "pay now, or pay later."
