Scoring baskets is all in the family. When Kyler Kovaleski scored his 1000th point for the Holy Rosary 7th-8th grade basketball team he followed in his mother’s footsteps. She was Ellen Gilhooley when she played for Seton Catholic high school and was a 1000-point scorer for the Lady Eagles from 1981-82 to 1984-85. Actually she scored over 1500 despite missing parts of two seasons with injuries. After high school she played at the University of Pittsburgh.

Pictured are Holy Rosary 1,000-point scorer Kyler Kovaleski with his parents Ellen and Ed Kovaleski.
Kyler is considering enrolling at Pittston Area next season as a freshman.
