Patriots, Warriors eliminated in D2 Duals

PA loses in semis; WA ousted in first round

On Friday at Pittston Area in the 2010 District II Wrestling AAA Team Dual Championship the Patriots won their quarterfinal meet defeating Abington 33-29, but was eliminated by Delaware Valley 40-31 in the semifinal. Delaware Valley advanced to the final versus Hazleton Area last night. Three starters were unavailable for the Patriots.

Winners for the Patriots against the Comets were:

103 – Jamie Scarantino, pin; 112 – Tommy Janowski, tech fall; 119 – Michael Domarasky, forfeit; 130 – Matt McAndrew, forfeit; 145 – Ryan Vogel, decision; 171 – Bobby Falvo, major; 189 – Jason Laboranti, decision.

In the 2A tournament at Lake Lehman, Wyoming Area lost in the quarterfinal to top-seeded Western Wayne 51-24.

Winners for WA were:

130 – Tristen Vanderlick, pin; 140 – John Ratajczak, pin; 285 – Lucas Stemba, pin; 103 – Nicholas Heck, decision; and 119 – Andrew Schutz, decision

Konkrete Duals

Last weekend the Patriots wrestled in the Konkrete Duals at Northampton High School against some of the toughest competition in Eastern PA.

The Patriots went 1-2 defeating Emmaus and losing to Bethlehem Catholic and host Northampton.

Matt McAndrew (130) picked up his 100th career win in the Northhampton meet.

Winners for the Patriots against Bethlehem Catholic were:

145 - Brandon Dolan, pin; 189 - Jason Laboranti, pin; 215 - Jon Skryzowski, pin; 285- Chris Wesolowski, pin; and 103 - Jamie Scarantino, major.

Winners versus Emmaus were:

130- Matt McAndrew, forfeit; 140 - Ryan Vogel, major; 145- Brandon Dolan, forfeit; 160 - Marc Lizza, pin; 189 - Jason Laboranti, decision; 215- Jon Skryzowski pin; 103 - Jamie Scarantino, major and 119- Michael Domarasky, pin.

Winners against Northampton were:

119 - Michael Domarasky, pin; 130 - Matt McAndrew, major; 135 - Justin Wilk, decision; 285- Jon Skryzowski, decision and 103- Jamie Scarantino, decision.
