Running start for PA freshman Lombardo

In the District 2 AAA girls cross country championships, PA freshman Catherine Lombardo was the top local runner. Catherine won a medal for placing 11th in 21:33 in the field of 91 runners.

The meet was Friday, October 30 at Scranton Municipal Golf Course. A week earlier Catherine medaled in the Wyoming Valley Coaches run by finishing eighth at College Misericordia.

In five regular season cluster meets during the season, Catherine was first three times, second once and missed one meet when she was out sick.

As a freshman she had an impressive rookie season at the varsity level.
