WA girls volleyball trims lead

PA leads 6-3 with one fall game left

The Wyoming Area girls volleyball team won a point for the school on Monday by defeating the Pittston Area girls 3-1. As expected it was a very competitive match.

The volleyball win trimmed the Pittston Area lead by one to 6-3 in the 2009-10 Bridge Trophy Competition.

Wyoming Area has won two of the last three events since trailing 5-1.

There is just one game left, the football game on November 6 at Wyoming Area.

Right now both football teams are 2-6, so no chance of a winning season for either team. This will only the second time in the 40 plus year history of the Pittston Area-Wyoming Area football series that both teams will conclude a season with losing records. The one and only previous season when both had losing records was 1987 when Pittston Area beat Wyoming Area 21-7. PA finished 3-7 and WA 4-6.
