WA’s Vicky Petrosky qualifies for PIAA state tournament

For Wyoming Area’s Vicky Petrosky the third time was a charm on Tuesday at the East Regional golf tournament.

The senior shot 77 on the par-72 Golden Oaks Golf Course to tie for eighth place and advance to the Girls PIAA Championships at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York on Monday and Tuesday. It was Vicky’s third time participating in the regional event and her first time getting past the round.

Vicky was second in the District 2 tournament. In 2008 she was the District 2 champion

The only other Wyoming Valley Conference player to qualify was Holy Redeemer junior Mike Napkori, who finished in a tie for 19th in the boys meet to move on to the state tournament for the second straight year.
