Sixth in D-2, Krall to states; Lombardo 11th in D-2

Wyoming Area senior runner Josh Krall was the highest local finisher in the District 2 AAA boys cross country championships on Wednesday at Scranton Municipal golf course. Josh was 6th overall with a time of 17:45 and qualified for the state championships yesterday at the Parkview Cross Country Course in Hershey.

Junior Chris Hromek also medaled for the WA, placing 14th in 18:12. The Wyoming Area boys were seventh in the team standings.

The PA boys were 10th. Matt Sharr was their highest finisher, though he did not medal.

In AAA girls, PA freshman Catherine Lombardo was the top local runner, finishing 11th in 21:33. In the team standings the PA girls were eighth. The WA girls were 12th. Two WA girls took the last two medal positions. Sophomore Sara Radzwilka was 19th in 21:50. Junior Michelle Golden was 20th in 21:56.

Holy Redeemer freshman Marissa Durako was second overall in AAA with a time of 20:16. Marissa ran in junior high for Wyoming Area Catholic. Her Holy Redeemer teammate Rachel Sowinski, also a freshman, was first in 20:03. Holy Redeemer won the team title.

In junior high in District 2, PA’s Alyssa Rodzinak, an eighth grader, was 12th.
