Little Miss, Little Mr. Tomato to be named

Contestants sought for pageant, deadline for entry is August 19

The Little Miss and Little Mister Tomato contest will be held Sunday, August 23, at 11a.m. All contestants are asked to be at the festival band shell by 10:30 a.m.

2008 Little Mr. Tomato Braden Powers

The first category, “Little Miss Pittston Tomato” is open to girls, two to six years old. The second category, “Little Mister Pittston Tomato, is open to boys, two to six years old.

The contestants will be judged with 50 points for beauty and 50 points for personality.

The children are asked to wear something they would wear to a day at the Tomato Festival.

One winner will be chosen in each category with one runner-up. Entry fee is $5 and prizes will be awarded.

Checks should be made payable to the Pittston Tomato Festival, Inc. Deadline for entries is Wednesday, August 19. Chairpersons for the event are Judy Strelish and Angel Noone. Applications should be forwarded to Angel Noone, 36 Center Street, Pittston, PA 18640.

Please send in check for $5 to the above address along with child’s name, age, sex, address, phone and names of parents/guardians.
