Red Storm running: state troopers honor Josh Miller

Jeff McCabe and Maria DeMuro were the official male and female winners of the Tomato Festival 5k race yesterday morning, but the real winners were the Pennsylvania State Police and Trooper Josh Miller’s family, the Jim Duffy family and the Greater Pittston community.

The beginning of the race was a sensational and emotionally-charged sight, as a contingent of red-shirted state troopers fronted by Robbie Lombardo led off the race which was run in memory of Trooper Miller who was killed in the line of duty in May and Jim Duffy, a devoted Tomato Festival and 5k race volunteer who died in February. Duffy family members were also among the race lead-off group.

Lombardo was shoot and injured when Trooper Miller when was killed.
