The Dallas School District has narrowed its candidates for head high school football coach to four candidates over the weekend. Superintendent Frank Galicki, though, wouldn’t say who the four are or whether Ted Jackson, who has held the job the past 27 years, is among them.
On the side of Sal Biasi’s basketball shoes is a message. “On my shoe here I have, ‘You’re only as good as your last game,’” the Hazleton Area sophomore guard said. “That’s what I was thinking, that I wanted to come out better.”
George Howanitz defeated Dallas as Valley View’s quarterback. Now he gets a chance to do the same as Valley View’s coach.
Limit mistakes. Hang onto the football. Avoid costly penalties. Sounds like the credo for any high school football game. DALLAS – The Dallas School Board unanimously accepted the resignation of boys basketball coach Ted Jackson Jr. on Monday night, just four days before the official start of practice.
KINGSTON –Scranton corralled ultra-elusive, Penn State recruit Eugene Lewis for the most part and struck for three long touchdowns Friday night as the Knights defeated Wyoming Valley West, 36-7, in a District 2-4-11 Class AAAA football quarterfinal.
DALLAS – Opportunities came early this time around against Scranton Prep. And once again, Dallas wasted little time capitalizing.
