Lackawanna County election worker training begins Oct. 19

A new location has been selected for Lackawanna County election worker training.

Maryann Spellman, county director of elections, announced that classes will be held Oct. 19, 20, 22 and 23 at the county Public Safety Center, Valley View Business Park, Jessup. Classes were previously held at the county’s voting machine facility in Dickson City. The election is Nov. 3.

The Lackawanna County Bureau of Elections also seeks additional workers for certain Scranton voting locations. Anyone interested in working on Election Day is asked to apply in person at 135 Jefferson Ave., Scranton. The center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Applicants will be notified by Oct. 9 if they will be needed to work for the Nov. 3 election.
