The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce has announced that Mark Russell, political satirist and musical performer, will be featured at the Chamber’s 141st annual dinner.
The event is exclusive to Chamber members and will be held Wednesday, June 3, at Genetti Manor in Dickson City, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed immediately by dinner and the performance.
The dinner is sponsored by Sanofi Pasteur and PNC Bank. First Liberty Bank & Trust and Johnson College are sponsors of the pre-dinner reception. This will be the third year Russell has entertained at the dinner, having performed with standing room only in prior years.
Russell, a native of Buffalo, N.Y., plays off the day’s headlines, performing stand-up comedy while accompanying himself on the piano. He spent 30 years on public television as host of the “Mark Russell Comedy Specials.”
Today his syndicated column is enjoyed throughout America, as are his CDs, tapes and videos. Russell is on the road most of the year performing at colleges, conventions and in theaters. He resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife, Alison. He is the father of three and the grandfather of seven.
Cost is $60 per member and tables of 10 are available. To register, visit www.scrantonchamber.com or contact Virginia Goodrich at 342-7711 or e-mail vgoodrch@scrantonchamber.com.
