Jan and Carl Cwikla, owners of Cwikla’s Bakery in Avoca recently baked cupcakes to recognize National Pro-Life Cupcake Day observed locally at the University of Scranton and Scranton Preparatory School. Cupcakes for Life is meant to remind students that one in three children will never celebrate their first birthday or enjoy something as simple as a cupcake because of abortion.
The idea behind www.cupcakesforlife.com is to bring about awareness of this issue in a thoughtful and unique way. The Cwilkas baked and decorated 800 cupcakes with unique Pro-life slogans. The Pro-Life club members at Scranton Prep distributed the cupcakes to fellow students during lunch.
The Students for Life at the University of Scranton plan to donate the proceeds from their cupcake event to Sr. Anna & her pregnancy center at St. Joseph’s Center. Above, members of Students for Life at the University of Scranton, participating in National Pro-Life Cupcake Day, from left, were Meagan Molina, Emily Nohilly, Shana O’Hara and Patricia Quinn, president. Below, Scranton Prep students, from left, are Elizabeth Aston, Genny Bormes, Haley Dempsey and Sara Cosgrove.

I am thrilled that you covered a story like this! What beautiful young people to take on the new generation of those who understand the atrocity of abortion
