Moyer will be attending Luzerne County Community College majoring in broadcasting and film directing. Palmieri is currently a junior at Temple University as an accounting major.
“Hopefully you’ll settle in the community and do some good for all of us,” Chairman Giles Stanton said.
Supervisors also heard from Chris Nicholais, private developer of French Manor Estates, a future 11 lot development featuring “green” sewer and water systems. The process involves collecting rain water and using it for irrigation instead of being collected in a detention center.
“It’s one of the first in Pennsylvania,” Nicholais said. “It’s really the right thing to do.”
Supervisors conditionally approved his plans to build the system pending security in the form subjected to the sewer plan module.
In other business, Josh Thomas of South Abington was sworn in as a part time Township Police Officer. It was also announced that Scott Siegler would now be a full- time officer, replacing Scott Daniels, who recently retired after 23 years. Also, emergency services to fix a broken water drainage pipe on Echo Drive will soon be implemented, said Township Manager David O’Neill. The pipe is approximately 200 feet in length and can no longer hold contents during a rain storm.
