Once again, the Little Sisters of the Poor are asking for our help. As you know, the Little Sisters of the Poor offer hospitality to the needy aged in 33 countries around the world. Holy Family Residence in Scranton is a home for the elderly poor, where, in collaboration with lay staff, volunteers, family and friends, they strive to serve the elderly with love and respect creating as family like atmosphere. We have been invited to share in this mission as we approach the Advent season and all our donations are gratefully appreciated.
The Little Sisters of the Poor are in need of the following items: tissues, lotion, body wash, Efferdent, toothpaste and mouthwash, any type of canned fruits, vegetables and soups, unsweetened cereals and coffee
Especially during the holiday season, we want to say thanks to our men and women overseas or at home who are dedicated to protecting our country. To send a thank you card to our troops, the following website www.LetsSayThanks.com will assist us. Thank you!
We, as a school community, have the opportunity to assist one of our own families in need. Walter Popish, father of Cody Salerno a seventh grade student, is in need of a transplant. To assist with the medical bills, the Student Council, with the assistance of seventh grade homeroom, will conduct a Fresh made Holiday Greens Sale. This fundraiser began on Nov. 9th and will continue to November 24th. Delivery date for the Holiday Greens will take place on December 7th. Orders can be placed at the school: 654-7982.
Monies realized from this fundraiser will be placed in the Walter Popish Benefit Fund, c/o UFCW Federal Credit Union, Wyoming, PA.
We realize that there are many requests for your time and generosity. If you are unable to purchase wreaths, we ask that you pray for Cody and his family.
With the holidays almost upon us we have decided once again to have a fundraiser designed to hopefully make your holiday season a bit brighter and a bit easier. Wyoming Area Catholic PTG will be selling Poinsettias, which can be ordered now through Nov. 24th. The colors available will be red, pink, marble or white.
Flowers will be delivered on Monday, December 7th and can be picked up any time between the hours of 2:45-3:45 p.m. or between the hours of 5:30-6:30 p.m. at St. Cecelia’s Church Hall. The cost for each poinsettia is $9.00 for a 4-6 bloom plant and $15.00 for a 9-12 bloom plant.
All orders must be pre-paid and checks payable to WACS. Order forms have been sent home for each family. For more information call the school at 654-7982.
Wyoming Area Catholic School will go according to Wyoming Area School District for delays, early dismissals and cancellations due to bad weather.
