Scranton University preparing for coat drive

Members of the University of Scranton’s Alpha Lambda Delta, National Honor Society of Freshmen, and volunteers from the university’s Community Outreach Office recently gathered to prepare for a coat drive to be held later this month. The students are collecting new or gently used coats to be distributed this winter to those in need by the United Neighborhood Center and the Leahy Clinic at the University. From left are Mary Ellen Pichiarello, Scranton’s Alpha Lambda Delta staff adviser; sophomores, Michael Wiencek, Fleetwood; Jocilyn Budda, Freeland; Amber Cheesman, Freeland; and freshman Lauren DelleDonne, Colts Neck, N.J. The public is encouraged to donate items at one of the drop-off boxes located in the university’s DeNaples Center. For more information, contact Pichiarello at 941-4039 or at pichiarellm2@scranton.edu.
