The University of Scranton listed among nation’s best business schools

The Princeton Review has named The University of Scranton’s Kania School of Management among the best business graduate schools in the country for the fifth consecutive year. The 10th edition of Princeton Review’s Best 301 Business Schools published on October 6, 2009.

In the two-page profile about Scranton contained in the guidebook, Princeton Review praises the technology used in class and meeting rooms of Brennan Hall, including its simulated trading floor.

The profile also notes that Scranton’s "Jesuit philosophy influences character of the business community, inspiring a cooperative and supportive academic environment, which focuses on educating the whole individual."

The Best 301 Business Schools includes information about academics, student life and environment, admissions and career placement programs for each school profiled. Much of the information is based on The Princeton Review survey of 19,000 MBA students at the colleges listed in the book.

In April of 2009, The University of Scranton’s MBA program was listed among the top 15 in the nation for general management in Entrepreneur Magazine, based on data gathered from the Princeton Review’s national survey of its Best 292 Business Schools. The "Student Opinion Honors for Business Schools" listed the 15 MBA programs with highest scores in six success areas: accounting, finance, general management, global management, marketing and operations. Just 80 schools were listed in total.

The University of Scranton has also been listed in the Princeton Review’s undergraduate guidebook The Best 371 Colleges, for eight consecutive years. In addition, for the past 16 years, Scranton has been ranked among the top ten master’s universities in the North by U.S.News & World Report and, this year, ranked third among schools with a "Strong Commitment to Teaching" and fourth among the top "Up and Coming" schools in the nation.
