It takes a lot of fuel to power through a 60-minute hockey game. Pregame meal: “At school I’d get a bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant and a fruit smoothie from the cafe, and pasta and chicken for lunch then I don’t eat the rest of the day.”

Preferred meal on non-game days: “I eat a lot of Chipotle or burritos. I mix a burrito in as much as I can.”

Foods to avoid: “I have a bit of a sweet tooth so I try to avoid candy. But you burn a lot of energy here. As I get older I’ll stay away from sweets.”

Cheat meal: “Five Guys. A bacon cheeseburger with fries.”

Favorite meal from back home: “One thing I like about Staten Island is there are a ton of small pizzeria shops and you get a slice for $1.50. It’s better pizza than anywhere. Also, the bagels at the corner stores are really good. I go with a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese.”
