Warriors’ Harris two-hits Dallas

WEST PITTSTON — Andre Harris allowed just a pair of infield hits and struck out seven for Wyoming Area in a 3-0 complete-game shutout of Dallas on Monday in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division I matchup.

Randy McDermott had a triple and an RBI for the Warriors (9-3), while Chris Murphy went 2-for-3.

Hunter Englehart struck out eight in the loss for Dallas (4-7).

Adam Davis struck out nine in a complete-game four hitter to help the Cougars hold off the Royals.

Mike Martuscelli went 2-for-2 for the Cougars (9-3), while Matt Benyo had the team’s lone RBI.

Steve Ruch had two hits for the Royals (4-8), including a solo home run in the seventh that cut the lead in half.

Ryan Sod collected two doubles and three RBI to help the Crusaders rally from an early 7-3 deficit. Coughlin (8-4) also got three RBI from Mick Humanik.

Anthony Grillini hit a solo home run while Josh Featherman earned the win in relief.

Jarad Kmietowicz finished 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI for the Trojans (2-10).

Eight of the Black Knights’ 13 hits were good for extra bases, but Lake-Lehman (10-1) still had to gut out a close one at home.

The Preppers (2-9) scored three runs in the seventh inning and loaded the bases with two outs to bring the tying run to the plate before Justin Cornell came on to record the save.

Zack Yursha (3-4, RBI) and Bryan Mathers (2-4, two RBI) both doubled twice. Kyle Caffrey tripled and drove in two runs for Lake-Lehman.

MMI’s Ryan Forte finished 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBI.
