Berwick clinches tie for crown

WILKES-BARRE – Jade Welsh assisted two second-half goals as Berwick defeated Coughlin 2-0 Thursday to clinch at least at tie for the Division A title in Wyoming Valley Conference girls soccer.

Berwick (10-1-2) can win the championship outright by defeating or tying visiting Holy Redeemer on Monday or Dallas (9-3) losing or tying at Abington Heights on Monday.

Welsh got her first assist in the 53rd minute by aiding Tricia Gundersen’s goal. She helped Isabella Jaffin score in the 72nd minute.
