Bobcats hold off Nuggets

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Gerald Wallace had 25 points and 16 rebounds and the Charlotte Bobcats frustrated Carmelo Anthony and Denver in a 107-95 victory Tuesday night that snapped the Nuggets’ four-game winning streak.

Anthony, the NBA’s leading scorer, had 34 points and seven rebounds, but Wallace outplayed him down the stretch and a frustrated Anthony picked up a technical foul with just under a minute left to help seal Charlotte’s second straight win.

Stephen Jackson had 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists, and Nazr Mohammed added 15 points for the Bobcats, who outscored Denver 20-8 over the final 6 minutes.

J.R. Smith had 16 points for the Nuggets, who played without injured forward Kenyon Martin.

Raptors 94, Timberwolves 88

TORONTO — Chris Bosh had 21 points and 16 rebounds, Jarrett Jack had 17 points and eight assists and Toronto beat Minnesota for its first three-game win streak this season.

Hedo Turkoglu scored 16 points, and DeMar DeRozan and Andrea Bargnani each added 15 as Toronto extended its winning streak over Minnesota to 11 games. The Raptors have not lost to the Timberwolves since a 108-97 home loss on Jan. 21, 2004.

Al Jefferson had 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Kevin Love scored 18 points for the Timberwolves in his third game since returning from a fractured left hand he sustained in the preseason.

Celtics 98, Bucks 89

BOSTON — Rajon Rondo had 13 assists and nine rebounds and scored all of his 11 points in the fourth quarter as Boston pulled away to beat Milwaukee and win its eighth straight game.

Kevin Garnett scored 25 to go with nine boards, and Paul Pierce scored 15 points. Reserve Rasheed Wallace added 13 points, hitting a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter before the Celtics broke an 86-all tie by scoring 12 of the game’s final 15 points.
