Crestwood shocks Mountaineers

WRIGHT TWP. – Ashley Dinoski scored four minutes into overtime as Crestwood upset Dallas 2-1 Monday in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division A girls soccer game.

Two-time defending divisional champion Dallas (2-1) lost in WVC regular-season play for only the second time since the 2006 season.

Dallas took a 1-0 lead in the 48th minute on a goal by Stephanie Ashley. Crestwood (1-2) tied the score just past the midway point of the second half when Cassie DiSabatino scored.

Crestwood keeper Kyley Henry made 20 saves to preserve the victory.

Olivia Spagnola scored twice in less than a minute and a half in the match’s first 40 minutes to help the Crusaders open a 2-0 lead and they never had to look back.

Lindsey Dunsmuir added a goal via direct kick for Coughlin.

Kelsey Kolojejchick and Ronni Martinez scored for the Blue Knights.
