Logano rules ARCA field

LONG POND – Joey Logano did Saturday what other NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers have done at Pocono Raceway – he dominated the ARCA Re/Max Series Pocono 200.

The Cup rookie led 52 of 80 laps, including the final 32, to post his second career win in the ARCA circuit.

Casey Mears won both ARCA races in 2003 as a Cup rookie. Scott Riggs posted a victory as a Cup rookie the following season and Travis Kvapil did the same in 2005.

Pole winner Justin Lofton finished second. Lofton led the first 14 laps before Logano worked his way up from the fourth starting spot to take the lead for the first time.

Three other drivers made cameo appearances at the front, but Logano made his way back to first quickly and even a few late-race restarts were no problem for him.

Thirteen of the 37 drivers finished on the lead lap. There were five cautions for 27 laps, far less than the 44 laps run under caution in last year’s event.
