ROARING BROOK TOWNSHIP -- Scranton Prep junior Nicholas Reach moved into position to claim his third straight District 2 golf championship when he shot a 3-under-par, 69 on the first 18 holes Monday at Elmhurst Country Club.
Reach has a six-shot lead over three players, including teammate Chaz Hudacek, as the top 15 players headed back on the course to determine the eight qualifiers for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association East Regional at Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood October 20.
Erik Meyer of Abington Heights and Pat Ross of Dunmore also shot 75.
Reach played the first three holes of the back nine in 4-under by sandwiching birdies around his eagle 3 at 11. The extra nine holes are being played on the front nine.
