PIAA registered soccer officials and varsity coaches are reminded of the annual mandatory rules interpretation meeting at 7:30 p.m. today at Good Shepherd Academy, 316 N. Maple St., Kingston. REGISTRATIONS/TRYOUTS

Pennsylvania Flag Football League is looking for players for its 2009 season. The league is for adults 18 and older. The games will be played on the Luzerne County Field in Forty Fort on Sunday mornings. For information on how to enter a team, contact Jerry at 779-4339.

Wyoming Valley Viper Travel Softball Team will hold tryouts Aug. 23 at the Back Mountain Little League field during the following times: 12U tryouts from noon to 1:30 p.m., 14U from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and 16U from 3 to 4 p.m. Information: Wayne at 760-1069 or Greg at 574-1515.

Wyoming/West Wyoming Little League will hold a fall ball registration on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Flack Field. All players 6 to 13 are eligible.

PRACTICES

GAR Junior High soccer starts mandatory practices on Monday at 9 a.m. at Coal Street soccer field. All candidates must have their physicals and forms completed to practice. Call coach Lugiano at 814-7403 for information.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Lady Birds Bowling League will begin its season on Aug. 26 at Modern Lanes. Bowlers report at 6 p.m. Bowling will begin at 6:15.

North Wilkes-Barre Little League is sponsoring a trip to the Little League World Series on Aug. 30. Cost is $10 per person, league players go for free. Call Jody at 824-7860 for details.
