MEETINGS

December NE Travel Soccer League will meet 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Norm’s Pizza in Wilkes-Barre. In addition to conducting the league’s normal business, the presentation of the champion and finalist awards will be made. A representative of the Philadelphia Union Soccer Club will be on hand to discuss the team and answer questions. Call Brian at 474-3814 with questions.

Pittston Area Football Booster Club will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday at Tony’s Pizzeria. Students who did not return discount cards must return them at this time or they will be billed for the cost of the cards. Officers for 2010 will be nominated and banquet will be discussed. For questions call Lisa at 655-2744.

West Side Little League board will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Courtdale Borough Building. Registration plans for 2010 will be discussed.

WVW Wrestling Booster Club will meet 7 p.m. Monday at the WVW Middle School.

REGISTRATIONS/TRYOUTS

Back Mountain Youth Soccer will host an indoor Futsal/soccer league Jan. 8 through March 15 for ages U6 to U16 at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre gym. FIFA futsal ball and rules will be used. Games will be played on weekends. Intramural and travel teams are welcome. For more information or to sign up, visit www.bmysa.org.

Coughlin Elementary Basketball will have signups on Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. The program is for fifth and sixth grade boys who live in the Coughlin area. There is no registration fee.

Flag Football League is looking for players ages 13-16 and teams for its league at the Wyoming Valley Sports Dome. A 10-game schedule will be played either Saturday or Sunday afternoons. Cost is $725 per team plus $725/gam for a referee. Interested parties can call Nick at 829-7763.

Plains Baseball Inc. will be holding signups for all levels, ages 5-16, at the Plains American Legion on Sunday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. First-time players will need a copy of their birth certifcates. Anyone interested in being a coach or manager should sign up at this time as well.

Wilkes-Barre Heights Baseball will hold registrations today from 2 to 4 p.m. at Stanton Lanes. All children ages 4-12 and living in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District are eligible. Cost is $20 for one child, $25 for two children and $40 for a family. Please bring a copy of the player’s birth certificate and proff of residency. Any questions, call 970-7756 or 824-0538.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Coughlin Basketball will hold its annual “Meet the Players and Cheerleaders” on Monday at 6 p.m. in the high school gym.

Wyoming Valley West Lady Spartans and the Rotary Club of Plymouth will sponsor the 14th annual Tip-Off Basketball Tournament at the WVW gym Dec. 12 through Dec. 15. The schedule is as follows: on Saturday, Juniorvarsity game (BVM vs. Meyers) at 4:30 p.m., varsity (BVM vs. Meyers) at 6 p.m., and Dallas vs. WVW at 7:30 p.m.; on Tuesday, junior varsity game (Dallas vs. WVW)at 4:30 p.m., varsity consolation game at 6 p.m.with the varsity championship tilt at 7:30 p.m.
