YANKEES FOURTH: Juan Miranda flied out. Jason Lane grounded out. Cody Ransom singled. JD Closser grounded into a fielder’s choice and Ransom was safe at second on a throwing error by Chiefs first baseman Hector Luna. Eric Duncan homered, scoring Ransom and Closser. Matt Carson grounded out. Chiefs 4, Yankees 3.

YANKEES SEVENTH: Closser flied out. Duncan singled. Sean Stidfole came in to pitch for the Chefs. Carson grounded into a fielder’s choice, with Duncan forced at second. Chris Stewart doubled in Carson. Justin Christian flied out. Yankees 4, Chiefs 4.

CHIEFS EIGHTH: Sandoval hit an infield single. Watson singled, moving Sandoval to third. Luna grounded into a fielder’s choice, with Sandoval tagged out in a rundown between third and home. Watson went to third and Luna reached second on the play. Adams received an intentional walk, loading the bases. Thigpen homered, scoring Watson, Luna and Adams. Kevin Mellilo flied out.
