Wyoming Valley Conference football spent 10 weeks playing 108 games to accomplish one thing – end the seasons of three of the conference’s 17 teams.

Done are GAR, Hanover Area and Tunkhannock. The 14 others advanced to the postseason on Friday.

Here are the pairings for the District 2 and Eastern Conference playoffs, which also includes 14 of the 20 teams in the Lackawanna Conference.

CLASS 6A

This is actually a subregional since Williamsport is from District 4.

Semifinal games at 7 p.m. Friday are: No. 4 Scranton (6-4) at No. 1 Delaware Valley (10-0) and No. 3 Hazleton Area (6-4) at No. 3 Williamsport (7-3).

DeVal defeated Scranton 45-7 in Week 8. Williamsport edged Hazleton Area 28-26 in Week 3.

The championship game is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 10.

CLASS 5A

This is also a subregional with District 11, but the two district champions don’t play until Nov. 17.

No. 3 Abington Heights (1-9) is at No. 2 Wyoming Valley West (4-6) at 7 p.m. Friday in a District 2 semifinals. Valley West won the regular-season matchup 38-7 in Week 7.

Friday’s winner travels to top-seeded Wallenpaupauck (5-5) for the D2 championship game. Wallenpaupack defeated both semifinalists during the regular season.

CLASS 4A

All four games are 7 p.m. Friday.

No. 8 Wyoming Area (4-6) is at No. 1 Berwick (8-2). Berwick defeated Wyoming Area 17-14 in Week 3.

No. 7 Coughlin (4-6) is at No. 2 Dallas (7-3). Dallas opened the season with a 54-7 victory over the Crusaders.

No. 6 Crestwood (5-5) plays at No. 3 Valley View (7-3). No. 5 Pittston Area (6-4) is at No. 4 North Pocono (7-3). Those teams didn’t play during the regular season.

The semifinals are Friday, Nov. 10 at the site of the higher seed. The Wyoming Area-Berwick winner plays the Pittstion Area-North Pocono winner. The Crestwood-Valley View winner plays the Coughlin-Dallas winner.

The championship game is Nov. 17 at the site of the higher seed.

CLASS 3A

The semifinals will feature two 7 p.m. Game Friday where the teams haven’t played this season.

No. 3 Lake-Lehman (6-4) is at No. 2 Western Wayne (7-3). No. 4 Meyers (6-4) plays at No. 1 Scranton Prep (10-0).

The championship game is Friday, Nov. 10, at the site of the higher seed.

CLASS 2A

The bracket features four teams from the Lackawanna Conference. Both games are 7 p.m. Friday.

No. 4 Mid Valley (5-5) is at No. 1 Dunmore (10-0) in a rematch of a Week 8 game won by the Bucks 49-0. No. 3 Lakeland (5-5) plays at No. 2 Carbondale Area (6-4). Carbondale Area won the regular-season game 30-14 in Week 4.

The championship game is Friday, Nov. 10, at the site of the higher seed.

CLASS A

This is a subregional with District 1, but both districts will hold championship games Friday before meeting on Friday, Nov. 10, at a District 1 site.

In the District 2 championship, Lackawanna Trail (8-2) is at Old Forge (9-1) at 7 p.m. Old Forge topped the Lions 32-20 in Week 7. The District 1 championship will be Jenkintown (5-4) at Delco-Christian (5-5) at 7:30 p.m.

EASTERN CONFERENCE

In the Class 2A-A championship game, Bloomsburg (5-5) is at Northwest (7-3) at 7 p.m. Friday.

In the Class 3A championship game, Holy Redeemer (2-8) is at Nanticoke (5-5) at 7 p.m. Friday. Nanticoke defeated Holy Redeemer 57-14 in Week 9.
