Last week: In her first official high school basketball game, Bartoli scored 10 points in the Patriots’ 67-33 win over Coughlin last Monday.

What she says: “It feels pretty amazing. … It was wonderful (getting the support from teammates).”

Coach says: “Ellie is amazing. She challenges all of us at practice to shooting contests and she was so excited to go in. Once she got in, I knew she would start hitting her shots because she is a really good shooter.” — Kathy Healey, Pittston head basketball coach.

School: Wyoming Seminary

Year: Senior

Sport, position: swimming

Family: Mike, dad; Julie, mom; Emma, sister

Last week: Won the 100 back and was part of the 200-yard medley with Marcos Rico, Garrett Pall and Stanley Zaneski in Wyoming Seminary’s 96-74 win over the Wyoming Valley West. It was the Blue Knights’ first WVC boys swimming title in 14 years. Bean was also part of the first-place 400 relay team with Zaneski, Rico and Yonah Wasik. Bean won the 100 back at the Ray Wills Invitational on Feb. 4.

What he says: “It was great to see the team come together and do amazing things. We were confident (heading into the meet against Valley West), we beat them back at Ray Wills. We wanted to have a repeat of that. We wanted everyone to come out and do their jobs.”

Coach says: “Matt has been one of our captains for two years now. He’s a team player who will do whatever is needed by the team and it was great to see him break through at Ray Wills and again during the Valley West dual meet to get best times leading into districts.”
