Hazleton Area grad Sal Biasi picked up a no decision in another impressive outing for the Rookie-level Burlington Royals.

The 21-year-old right-hander went five innings and allowed just one run on two hits and three walks on Wednesday. Biasi also struck out five.

The former Penn State pitcher has a 2-0 record and 2.03 ERA in his last seven appearances.

Matt Wotherspoon

The Crestwood product had a rough outing against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old reliever allowed two runs on a hit and a walk to take the loss for Triple-A Norfolk.

Mike Papi

The Tunkhannock grad collected one hit in the first half of this past week, a single Wednesday against Binghamton, but had his games on Thursday and Friday rained out.

Papi has a .303 batting average paired with two home runs and five RBI in his last 10 games for Double-A Akron.

Tony Hernandez

The Hazleton Area grad took the loss on Wednesday for the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Yankees East.

Hernandez pitched five innings of three-run baseball while giving up seven hits and a walk. He did strike out three.

Jhordany Mezquita

The Hazleton resident gave up a run on two hits and three walks for the GCL Phillies on Thursday. Mezquita did strike out a pair.

It was the first run he’s given up as a professional.
