Four Holy Redeemer athletes will be continuing their athletic and academic pursuits at Division I colleges in the fall.
Leah Mullery and Kayla Kruk are heading to Division I schools to play field hockey. Mullery signed to Lehigh University and Kruk signed to Sacred Heart University. Morgan Bienkowski will play softball at Binghamton University. Ben Rachilla will attend Quincy University to play volleyball.
Mullery led the Royals with 20 goals and 20 assists for 60 points this season. Kruk contributed five goals, assisted 21 more for 31 points.
Bienkowski had 120 strikeouts in 57 innings, finishing with a 9-1 record and a 0.98 ERA. She batted .446 and had 23 RBI.
Rachilla led the team with 204 kills as the Royals went 12-0 in the Wyoming Valley Conference without dropping a set.
Jessie Ornoski will continue her field hockey career at Division II Shippensburg University, while baseball player Mykolas Bozentka will compete at the Division II Bloomsburg University.
Ornoski led the Royals to a PIAA Class 2A first round win. Bozentka helped the Royals to the Class 3A state championship game.
WVW players commit to colleges
Four field hockey players from Wyoming Valley West signed with colleges.
Madison Woods committed to the University of Pennsylvania to play at the Division I level, and Irelynd Sullivan signed to Mansfield University to compete at Division II.
Woods scored three goals and assisted nine, while Sullivan had two goals and assisted on three this season.
Foto Tsioles and Callie Edwards signed to Division II Bloomsburg University.
Tsioles recorded 11 goals, five assists and 27 points this season, and Edwards had one goal and assist.
