WILKES-BARRE – Wilkes University announced on Wednesday the departure of head football coach Trey Brown, ending his four-year tenure running the program.

Wilkes finished 0-10 this season and 0-9 in the MAC, concluding its year with a 40-26 loss to city rival King’s College. The Colonels were 7-33 in Brown’s four seasons. The program hasn’t finished with a winning record since going 6-5 in 2010.

Brown spent four years as the quarterbacks and special teams coordinator at Muhlenberg before joining Wilkes. He replaced Frank Sheptock, who is now the head coach and athletic director at Berwick High School. Brown was also the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Lehigh University for four years.

Prior to coming to Lehigh, Brown was an assistant coach at Stanford University for three years and spent another year at the University of Pennsylvania.

Wilkes will begin a national search for its next head coach immediately. The university’s website has offensive line coach David Biever listed as acting head coach.
