Chance Adams, Brady Lail, Cale Coshow and J.P. Feyereisen all played key roles in getting the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders back into the Governors’ Cup Finals for a second straight season.
Now they’ve been rewarded.
The four prospects, all of whom are not on the New York Yankees 40-man roster, received non-roster invites to the club’s big-league spring training camp. Twenty players not on the 40-man were extended invites in all, including catcher Francisco Diaz, who played in four games with the RailRiders in 2017, former major leaguers infielder Danny Espinosa, outfielder Jace Peterson and right-hander David Hale.
Also attending will be highly touted prospects, including outfielder Estevan Florial, lefty Justus Sheffield, second baseman Nick Solak, right-hander Dillon Tate and righty Taylor Widener.
Both Adams and Lail held down the RailRiders’ starting rotation for much of the 2017 campaign, while Feyereisen and Coshow were nice additions to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre bullpen during the season.
Adams turned into Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s ace after his promotion to Triple-A in early May, finishing the season with an 11-5 record and 2.89 ERA.
Lail was a constant presence for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, appearing in 26 games, including four appearances out of the bullpen.
Feyereisen held a 3.53 ERA in 24 appearances for the RailRiders, while Coshow registered an 3.18 ERA in four appearances.
RailRiders, Bold Gold announce extension
The RailRiders will continue to have their games broadcast on 1400 The Game, NEPA’s Fox Sports Radio flagship station, for the next three seasons, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and the Bold Gold Media Group announced on Friday.
Bold Gold will air all 140 regular season games, any postseason games, the Triple-A All-Star Game and the Triple-A National Championship Game.
In their first year as a broadcast team, Adam Marco and Adam Giardino will be able to be heard on 1340 WYCK-AM in Luzerne County and 100.7 FM in Wilkes-Barre.

The broadcasts, which will include a 30-minute pregame show prior to first pitch, can also be heard at swbrailriders.com and boldgoldradionepa.com.
