WILKES-BARRE – The final boys basketball game of the season on Friday wasn’t much like those played during the Wyoming Valley Conference schedule.
WILKES-BARRE — If there were a highlight film of Katlin Michaels’ dominating performance in Friday night’s Dr. George P. Moses Senior All-Star Classic, it would be difficult to pick out the most spectacular play.
Shortly after Crestwood’s season ended in the PIAA Class 3A quarterfinals, coach Mark Atherton gave a synopsis of what it was like coaching Adam Fazzini the past four years.
Fazzini was named the Division I MVP and selected the Times Leader Player of the Year for a second consecutive season. He helped Crestwood to the Class 3A quarterfinals by averaging 17.8 points, hitting 44 3-pointers and recording 255 rebounds. The three-year starter finished his career with 1,431 points.
Edmonds was instrumental in Wyoming Area tripling its victory total from last season. He averaged 20.5 points in 21 games, shot 60 percent from the field and 66 percent from the foul line, grabbed 210 rebounds and blocked 42 shots. He accounted for 40 percent of the team’s scoring in being named all-WVC for a second time.
