Harnischfeger gets her 1,000th point

NANTICOKE – Jenn Harnischfeger scored 24 points – including the 1,000th of her career – as she led Nanticoke to a 44-36 victory over Lake-Lehman in Wyoming Valley Conference girls basketball Thursday night.

Teresa Kalinay helped out the Trojanettes with 10 points.

Selina Adamcheck led Lehman with 11 points.

Lauren Smicherko scored 32 points as Pittston Area defeated Tunkhannock.

Smicherko had 20 points at halftime as the Patriots opened a 38-14 lead. Mia Hopkins added 15.

Jenna Downs scored 10 to pace Tunkhannock.
