(AP) An 87-year-old Seattle real-estate developer and his wife now face dozens of charges, one day after they were arrested in the French Alps.

The U.S. attorney's office in Seattle said Thursday that a 43-count grand jury indictment accuses Michael Mastro and his wife, Linda, of concealing a bank account of more than $760,000 from his creditors. Prosecutors say they've also lied about the whereabouts of two huge diamonds valued at $1.4 million.

The Mastros vanished 16 months ago, after a bankruptcy judge ordered them to turn over the 27.8- and 15.9-carat diamonds. They were arrested Wednesday by French police in Annecy, a lake town in southeastern France.

Mastro was forced into bankruptcy in 2009. He owes more than $200 million to creditors.
