Armed robbery at Forty Fort bank

FORTY FORT – Police responded to an armed bank robbery reported shortly before noon Saturday at Citizens Bank.

Forty Fort police said a man entered the bank at the corner of Welles Street and Wyoming Avenue, showed a gun and demanded cash. He then fled on foot along Wyoming Avenue. It was unclear how much if any money was taken from the bank.

Officers from multiple other departments, including Kingston, Edwardsville, Swoyersville and state police, also responded to the reported robbery, and assisted Forty Fort police in patrolling the area around the bank, but police were unable to find the man.

Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation were also called in to investigate the robbery.
