Ashford, Baratta

Alicia Ashford and Justin Baratta, together with their families, announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Richard Ashford, Wapwallopen, and Cheryl and John Lapinski, Mountain Top. She is the granddaughter of Paul and Dorothy Ashford, Wapwallopen, and the late Theodore and Norma Dembowski, Nanticoke.

Alicia is a 2005 graduate of Crestwood High School. She attended Lock Haven University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in education. She is employed as a special education teacher at West Scranton High School.

The prospective groom is the son of Wilma Baratta and the late Jerry Baratta, Wapwallopen. He is the grandson of Joseph Baratta and the late Doris Baratta, Dorrance, and Helen Spaide and the late William Spaide, Wapwallopen.

Justin is a 2002 graduate of Crestwood High School. He attended Lackawanna College and East Stroudsburg University, where he earned his degrees in sociology and criminal justice. He is employed as a nuclear security officer at PPL.

The couple will exchange vows in spring of 2013.
