WILKES-BARRE -- One person was injured when he was struck by a Ford F150 while riding a bicycle across South Pennsylvania Boulevard, at East Northampton Street, just after 5 p.m.

Paramedics loaded the victim into an ambulance and has left the scene.

The pickup truck stopped in the middle of the intersection after it struck the bicyclist. The front wheel on the mountain bike became detached from the frame, which is also laying in the middle of the intersection.

It appears that the bicyclist lost a yellow shoe, which was laying next to the bike. The victim was found about 10 feet away from the bike.
There are also two other bikes in the roadway but it's not immediately known if they were involved in the incident.
