King's College will host two sessions of the Stars of Tomorrow prospect baseball camp on Sunday, Dec. 16 and Sunday, Jan. 13. Both camps will be held from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. each day. The camp is for players in grades 7-12, who have the interest and desire to play collegiate and/or professional baseball. Players will also be exposed to the college recruiting process. King's College women's lacrosse coach Laura Patton has announced the Lady Monarchs will be hosting a Winter Warm-Up Clinic on Saturday, Feb.16 in King's new Scandlon Gymnasium Recreation Center. Two sessions will be offered. The first will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and will be open to girls in grades 9-12. The second will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is open to girls in elementary and middle school. Cost is $30 per-participant if registration is paid before Jan. 31, 2013. Misericordia University Baseball Winter Academy will run five consecutive Sundays beginning Jan. 13 and will include sessions in hitting, throwing mechanics/pitching and pitching. Community Winter Sunday Basketball League for school teams will begin play on Sunday, Dec 2. There are two divisions, one for grade 5-6 boys and one for grade 5-6 girls. Wyoming Valley CYC Junior Basketball Officials will meet Saturday, Dec. 1st at 10 a.m. The Junior Basketball Officials Club is open to boys and girls grade 7 - college. Participants have the opportunity to learn the skills and mechanics of basketball officiating. Members earn money officiating CYC league and tournament games. Instruction is by PIAA Officials and the program is free of charge.

Rock Recreation Center is accepting registration applications for the 2013 Upward Basketball Season. The league is open to Girls and Boys Pre-K through 6th Grade. This event features intrasquad scrimmages showcasing this season's Nanticoke Area Boys and Girls basketball teams from grade 7 through varsity. It's always a fun event and gives Trojan and Trojanette family and friends an early look at the teams. Everyone is invited and admission is free.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will hold their third annual Pens and Pins Charity Bowling Tournament Dec. 2 from 3-5 p.m. at Chacko's Family Bowling Center in Wilkes-Barre. Penguins players and coaches will be chosen randomly to captain teams of fans in a two-game format. Registration fee is $50 per person or $200 for a team of five and includes two games of bowling, free shoe rental, pizza and soda and a commemorative 2012 Pens and Pins T-shirt.
