King's College
Women's Lacrosse will host a Winter Warm-Up Clinic today in King's new Scandlon Gymnasium Recreation Center. Two sessions will be offered. The first is from 9 a.m. to noon, open to girls in grades 9 to 12. The second is from 1 to 4 p.m., open to girls in elementary and middle school. King's College Monarch Softball Clinic will be held Sunday in King's new Scandlon Gymnasium Recreation Center. Lady Monarch head coach Lisa Gigliello and her staff will offer two separate clinics during the day and both will be open to players age 9-through-18 years old. A Pitching Clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to Noon with instruction being provided by King's pitching coach and former Bloomsburg University All-American Ashley Lynn-Kowalski. A Skills Clinic covering hitting, fielding, and strength training will run from 1 – 3 p.m. Cost of each clinic is set at $40. For those wishing to attend both clinics, the cost will be $70. Maximum Impact Sports Training is having a free open house clinic for all softball players. This open house will allow players to take advantage of a free clinic that will involve both hitting and fielding. The open house will be held this today for ages 7-12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and ages 13-18 from 1 - 3 p.m. Twenty-five players max for each class. Please call 822-1134 to register.



Misericordia Girls Lacrosse will host a clinic, Sunday at the Anderson Center. Under the direction of Misericordia head coach Chrissy Trescavage, the clinic is open to girls 10-18 years old and welcomes players of all skill levels. Cost for the 90-minute clinic is $40 and includes a Misericordia t-shirt. The clinic will feature instruction on offensive and defensive skills, as well as a scrimmage. Hanover Area Boys Basketball Booster Club will have a fundraiser today from 6 – 9 p.m. at Screwballs in Lee Park.



Wyoming Valley Chapter of PIAA Baseball Officials will meet Sunday at 6:30 p.m. The chapter will hold its first meeting of the 2013 season, in room 106 of Breiseth Hall on the Wilkes University campus. This meeting is held in preparation for the upcoming season.


 



REGISTRATIONS/TRYOUTS


 



Ashley/Hanover Girls Fast-pitch Softball will have registrations today from 1 - 3 p.m. at Hanover Memorial School and Feb. 19 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Hanover High School cafeteria. The cost is $50 plus fundraiser (buyout $35). All girls that reside in Luzerne County ages 6 to 16 are eligible. First time registrants must bring a copy of a birth certificate. Back Mountain Little League will have its second registration for baseball and softball players today from 9 a.m. until noon at the Dallas Middle School. All players at least 5 years old prior to May 1 are eligible. Players need to bring proof of address and new players need a birth certificate. Hanover Area/Ashley Newton Little Leagues registration will be held today from 9-11 a.m. at Hanover Area High School in the cafeteria for all those who played for ASNWR, Lee Park, Hanover Green, Lyndwood and Ashley/Newton Little Leagues. Registration is open for all children ages 4 to 16 as of April 30 who resides in Hanover Township, Sugar Notch, Warrior Run, Ashley and Newton. Bring a copy of your child's birth certificate as well as three proofs of residency. Little League girls softball registration is also available for girls ages 8-16 at the same dates and times.




Mountain Top Area Legion Baseball will hold registrations for this season today from noon to 2 p.m. at Post 781 in Mountain Top. Boys ages 13-18 residing in Wright, Fairview, Dorrance, Hollenback, Dennison, Rice and Slocum Townships as well as Nuangola Borough, Penn Lake Park and White Haven Borough are eligible to register. Players registering must be accompanied by one parent and bring their health insurance information along with a copy of their birth certificate. Nanticoke Area Little League is holding sign ups for our baseball and softball programs for ages 4-16 years old this today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Monday, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Hillan Field Complex in Newport Township. Final sign ups will be Feb. 23 and 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Nanticoke Ed Center Cafeteria. If there are any questions, call Wade 735-0189 or Ken 735-2386.




South Wilkes-Barre Little League signups will begin today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Firwood Church on Old River Road. They will also be Wednesday, Feb. 20 from 6 - 8 p.m., Saturday Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. -1 p.m. at Firwood Church. The final signup will be held at Kistler School during parent teacher conferences. Players must be ages 4 and up.



Swoyersville Little League Baseball and Softball Registration will be held today at the Swoyersville borough building. Any boy or girl age 4-16 living in Swoyersville is eligible. The cost is $75 for t-ball, $90 for coach pitch, minor and major and $100 for junior and senior little league. For more information, call Dave at 899-3750.



Swoyersville Little League Baseball and Softball signs up will be today from Noon – 2 p.m. at the Swoyersville borough building.

Wilkes-Barre Twp. Youth Baseball Organization will hold registration today and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Wilkes-Barre Twp. Fire Hall. If players live in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District, they are eligible to play for us. Sign-ups cost is $35 for the first child and $20 for each additional child. Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH), Division II, Wilkes-Barre, will be holding its annual Night at the Races today at St. Andrew's Parish Hall (St. Patrick's), 318 Parrish St. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and Post Time is 7:15 p.m. Admission is $5.
