Back Mountain churches will hold their annual Ecumenical Soup and Scripture during the five Mondays of Lent. Services will begin at 6 p.m. following by soup at 6:45 p.m. Participants will reflect on the upcoming Sunday scripture or the scripture choices of the pastor. Closing prayers will be held at 8 p.m.

Monday, Feb. 25 – Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church, Lehman

Monday, March 4 – Maple Grove United Methodist Church, Pikes Creek

Monday, March 11 – Huntsville United Methodist Church, Huntsville

Monday, March 18 – Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth

St. Peter's Church, 3832 SR 6 East, Tunkhannock, will offer quiet music and meditation Wednesdays during Lent, Feb. 20 through March 27, as a way of opening the thin place between God and people.

Soup Supper will precede the service. Supper begins at 6:30 p.m. and the services begin at 7 p.m.

A spaghetti dinner will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Huntsville United Methodist Church, 2355 Huntsville Road, Shavertown.

Take-outs will be available from 3 to 6 p.m.

Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, dinner roll and beverage. Cost is $7.50 for adults and $4.50 for children age 6 and under.

This year's World Day of Prayer Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 105 Irem Road, Dallas.

Church Women United is sponsoring the service. There will be a planning meeting at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 and a rehearsal at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 22 at Trinity Presbyterian Church.

There will be a tea in the fellowship hall following the service. Call 675-3131 for more information.

Trucksville United Methodist Church Craft Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 2. This year's event includes crafts, jewelry, a lunch counter and a bake sale.

Vendor tables are $25 to $40 and may be reserved by calling Noreen at 239-2348.

All proceeds support the church's mission projects.

The Huntsville United Methodist Church will host a spaghetti dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 23. Eat-in or take-out dinners will be available.

Tickets are $7.50 for adults and $4.50 for children age 6 and older and will be available at the door.

Cross Creek Community Church and WRGN 88.1 will feature LIVE Big Daddy Weave and the Redeemed Tour, along with Mike's Chair and Citizen Way, at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 5. Doors open at 6 p.m.
