I admit it, this blog is aimed at family and friends who couldn't make it to Thanksgiving supper yesterday. We cooked at Mom Guydish's house once it appeared we'd be cooking for only mom, Jay, Ray, Mike and us. It made more sense for MT & me to go to Hazleton with all our food (talk about taking coals to Newcastle! People who know mom will get that) rather than them packing everyone up to come to Wilkes-Barre.

Jay and I (mostly Jay) carving a turkey pattern into a pumpkin (I bought the gourd as my annual Halloween carving pumpkin but didn't use it), and a menu of:

Pumpkin soup
Turkey and stuffing (by MT)
Steamed Brussel Sprouts
Ricotta Cheese & Pumpkin Gnocchi in browned butter with hazel nuts and Parmesan
Imperial crab stuffed mushrooms
Remaining mushrooms and stems roasted in a balsamic vinegar/Dijon marinade
Butternut squash roasted in heavy cream, sage and Parmesan
Turnips au gratin
Candied Yams (mom's old recipe of butter and brown sugar

Amazingly, We forgot cranberry sauce of any sort, but no one verbally noticed.
